A ROYAL Navy officer said to be a perfectionist took her own life because she felt like a failure — despite being promoted, an inquest heard.
Lt Coral Crouch, 26, had told commanding officers she intended to quit the service, even though they had praised her exceptional work.

The logistics officer was burnt out and anxious, according to a Navy doctor who assessed her on a Caribbean deployment.
Mum Jennifer told the Portsmouth inquest: “She never wanted to let anyone down.
"She ended up taking on more than she could manage and her stress just increased.”
Lt Crouch of Southsea, Hants, hanged herself at home and left a note saying: “Never blame yourself.
"Thank you everyone.”

Coroner Jason Pegg said: “In Coral’s mind she felt she was letting others down.”
Verdict: Suicide.
