IPOH: A 28-year-old mother died after her car crashed into a road divider.
Taiping OCPD Osman Mamat said the accident occurred at KM209.7 of the North-South Expressway heading south at 10.57pm on Tuesday (Dec 14)
"According to our initial report, the mother Norfatiha Mohd Zaini together with her three children were heading to Ipoh from Sungai Petani. She lost control of the car and crashed into the divider," he said.
Osman added that Norfatiha, who worked as army personnel, suffered from a serious head injury and died at the scene.
"One of her children, aged one, suffered from internal bleeding and is currently receiving treatment at Taiping Hospital. The remaining two children, aged six and three did not sustain any injuries," he said.
He said the post mortem will be conducted on Wednesday (Dec 15) and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
