       KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Berjaya Corp Bhd, AMMB Holdings Bhd, Ekovest Bhd, Kelington Group Bhd and Solarvest Holdings Bhd to be among the stocks to watch on Friday.

       Berjaya Corp plans to privatise subsidiary Berjaya Land and sell Berjaya Sports Toto under the diversified group's strategic transformation plan, which includes a proposed hospitality real estate investment trust.

       AmBank, via its Labuan offshore branch, has initiated a fresh statutory demand against Singapore-listed Falcon Energy Group Ltd to seek from the latter a loan repayment sum of US$24.28mil (RM101.88mil).

       Ekovest said it will not proceed with its Heads of Agreement with Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd (IWH) to buy into the Bandar Malaysia project, following the lapse of Putrajaya's RM7.4bil sale of 60% in the project to a joint venture of IWH.

       Kelington has secured from Stolthaven (Westport) Sdn Bhd a RM50mil contract to construct oil products storage tanks at Port Klang.

       Solarvest has secured a contract worth RM87.5mil for a large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Kulim, Kedah.

       Kejuruteraan Asastera plans to raise RM106.13mil via a private placement for its renewable energy business and the repayment of bank borrowings.

       Ireka has secured a construction project in Terengganu worth RM124.39mil.

       Nexgram has received Putrajaya's nod for its digital system TracAPM to be commissioned as the official digital system for the quarantine management of inbound travellers.

       Meanwhile, the US market ended mixed with the Dow posting slight gains while the S&P and Nasdaq declined following the reporting season.

       Earlier, European stocks dropped after being dragged down by energy firms following lower crude oil prices.

       “Following the recent positive performance, the FBM KLCI could extend its rebound after bouncing off the support of 1,550 points,” JF Apex said.
