The parrot often welcomes Lorraine home from her shifts at the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough in a similar fashion.
But Lorraine has decided to put Scooby's antics to good use.
She has boosted the spirits of frontline NHS workers during the pandemic by sharing videos of Scooby's rants.
She said: "He’s like a human. As soon as I put my coat on to go out, he says, bye Lorraine.”
She added: "He came to us six months ago after his previous owner died.
"At first he would only say hello and cough as though he had a chest infection.

Scooby's foul mouth has boosted the spirits of NHS frontline workers at the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough
Another African Grey made headlines this week for telling the public to "f*** off."
Casesar, who lives in Pets Corner in Saltwater, Gateshead, has even taught other parrots in his enclosure to swear.
But Scooby also has a tender side.
He asks Lorraine to "give us a kiss" and tells her "I love you."
Lorraine said: "I have worked in the hospital throughout the pandemic and it's been very tough.
"Our ward was a Covid ward and I shared the videos of Scooby with my colleagues. It really cheered them up.
"When I get home from a shift at 5am he never fails to make me smile.
"He’s so rude to us but really we wouldn’t have him any other way."
