KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional will let its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin discuss the deputy prime minister's post with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president, however, said that the matter was not discussed at Sunday's (Aug 22) Perikatan supreme council meeting.
"We will let the chairman discuss it with the PM and let him (Ismail Sabri) decide," Ahmad Faizal told reporters after the two-hour meeting here when asked if the deputy prime minister's post had been discussed.
Asked if Perikatan would make any demands for ministerial portfolios, Ahmad Faizal replied that Muhyiddin would discuss this with Ismail Sabri.
"And I believe the Prime Minister will make the right decision."
He said the most important task now is to form a stable Cabinet to bring the country out of the health and economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
