Montgomery County police officials reported Wednesday night that they are investigating a homicide in the parking lot of Lakeforest Mall, officials said on the department's Twitter account.

       Gaithersburg and county police officers were called for the report of a shooting at 701 Russell Ave. about 5:35 p.m., county police officials said in a statement. Police found a man who was shot and was later pronounced dead as the result of the injuries, officials said.
