A shooting early Sunday morning in Flossmoor in what police said was an isolated event resulted in four people being wounded, one of whom later died, according to authorities.
Police said they responded to the 3800 block of Ballantrae Way to a report of a disturbance and shots fired and found four people wounded.
One person was pronounced dead shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday at Advocate Aurora Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The cause of death was ruled a homicide due to a gunshot wound to the abdomen, but the identity of the person was not yet available because family has not yet been notified, according to the office.
Three of the victims had been taken to Christ and the fourth to Franciscan St. James in Olympia Fields.
The conditions of the other three people were not available.
