KOFU -- Two more people have reported broken bones after riding on attractions at the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park near Mount Fuji, bringing the total possibly injured to 16, the park announced on Nov. 22.

It has been confirmed that six people suffered serious injuries including broken bones riding the popular "Do-Dodonpa" roller coaster at the amusement park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, while another six sustained minor injuries. Two more people also sustained minor injuries on other rides.

According to operator Fuji-Q Highland Co., a woman in her 20s who took multiple rides at the park in early October recently reported that she discovered she had broken a rib. Another woman in her 40s who took multiple rides in mid-November reported to the park that she had a compressed lumbar fracture. In both cases, the women had not reported the injuries on the days they visited the park, but only discovered the fractures when they consulted doctors later.

The company intends to investigate the details, including whether their injuries are related to the park's rides.
