KOTA KINABALU: A search is on for a four-year-old boy who is feared to have drowned while bathing in a river at the Man Coon Estate in Beluran.

       Beluran fire station chief Rastam Keladi said according to information gathered, the boy saw some older children bathing in the river, many of whom had rubber floaters, and joined them late Saturday afternoon.

       “The children realised that he was nowhere near them not long after he went into the river to join them and a search was mounted,” he said.

       An emergency call for help was made when they could not find the boy at about 5.15pm.

       Rastam said the search for the victim, aided by tracking dogs, was centred around the area where he was last seen.
