SHOCKING bodycam footage shows the moment a teenager lied to police after stabbing his friend through the heart.

Former private schoolboy Joshua Molnar, then 17, cried as he claimed to have no idea what happened to Yousef Makki - who was killed in 2019.

In video seen for the first time, Molnar told cops the culprits had sped off following the horror attack in Cheshire.

But he had actually been the one to plunge the blade into 17-year-old Yousef.

A bare-chested Molnar, who had removed his top to stem the bleeding from Yousef's chest injury, told officers at the scene: "Me and my mate were walking over the motorway then Yousef Makki's walked ahead.

"We've come round the corner and he's just fallen over.

"We've come sprinting over and the guy was just coughing up blood so I've taken my shirt off and I've put pressure on it.

"But he hasn't been able to say anything and he's been, like, gasping for breath."

A cop then asks him: "How's that happened?" to which Molnar replies: "I don't know, I've literally just come back from round the corner."

He later suggests those responsible had fled in a silver hatchback.

Molnar subsequently admitted stabbing Yousef, but a jury accepted he had acted in self-defence.

He did, however, serve time for possessing the knife which inflicted the fatal injury and perverting the course of justice by lying to police at the scene.

Yousef, a scholarship student at the prestigious £12,000-a-year Manchester Grammar School, was knifed in Hale Barns on March 2.

It was initially believed to have happened during a fight over a botched drug deal, but it was later claimed fellow pupil Adam Chowdhary, who was with them at the time, had organised for some other men to give Molnar a revenge beating.

Chowdhary and Molnar subsequently argued in the street before Yousef tried to come between them - only to end up with a knife in his chest, it is alleged.

Molnar was arrested alongside Chowdhary, 18, who bought the flick knife that killed Yousef online.

The fresh police bodycam footage, which was played during the 2019 trial and last year's inquest but is only just being public, is revealed in new Channel 4 documentary Killed By A Rich Kid, which airs tonight.

It focuses on the backgrounds of those involved in the attack, particularly the disparity in wealth between Yousef, and Molnar and Chowdhary.

       MIDDLE CLASS HORROR

Bright Yousef came from Burnage, south Manchester, and went to the private school on a bursary.

Many of his fellow students were there partly because their parents could afford the high fees.

The doc reveals that some of the pupils, whose families pay thousands of pounds a year, were so rich they would arrive at the school prom in helicopters.

Their giant houses and grounds sprawled across neighbourhoods where businessmen had premiership footballers as neighbours.

Despite their good backgrounds, the Channel 4 programme reveals how Molnar seemed obsessed with gangster culture and was even seen waving blades around with friends.

Yousef's sister Jade Akoum, who is leading a campaign for the case to be revisited, also appears on the show.

He died on his own miles away from where he comes from and we were thinking he was safe.

In tears, she says: "I'm trying to be strong but he was my brother.

"All the details that they said and how he died and we weren't there for him and I'll never forgive myself that I couldn't be there.

"He died on his own miles away from where he comes from and we were thinking he was safe."

She has also spoken about the footage following Yousef's death being made public, telling MEN: "We are pleased that the public finally get to see the bodycam footage.

"We hope the public can make up their own minds as to how and why Yousef died that night."

Following an inquest in November, Senior South Manchester Coroner Ms Mutch recorded a narrative conclusion, saying: "Yousef died from complications of a stab wound to chest.

The Makki family, who had urged an unlawful killing finding, is seeking a judicial review to overturn the coroner's inconclusive verdict.
