PETALING JAYA: Another 115 deaths due to Covid-19 have been recorded on Friday (July 16), says the Health Ministry.
In his daily update, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said out of the 115 fatalities, 53 cases were recorded in Selangor.
The remaining cases of deaths were in Kuala Lumpur (24), Johor (7), Melaka (7), Penang (5), Negri Sembilan (4), Kedah (4), Sabah (3), Perak (3), Kelantan (2), Terengganu (2) and one in Labuan.
A total of 87 fatalities had comorbidities, and 24 of them were brought in dead.
This brings the death toll to 6,728 since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
In the meantime, the country’s Rt value, which is the infectivity rate, is now at 1.2.
The state or territory with the highest Rt value is Putrajaya at 1.32, followed by Terengganu (1.27) and Kedah (1.23).
