KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's daily Covid-19 case figures rose slightly to 125 on Monday (Dec 27), a day after it recorded its lowest figures in eight months with 108 on Sunday (Dec 26).

Sabah Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said that the rising numbers were mainly from the west coast group of four districts - Tuaran (23), Kota Kinabalu (23), Kota Belud (19) and Ranau (eight).

However, he said that Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu and Kota Belud had double-digit new cases and Ranau dropped to eight cases.

Masidi added that eight other districts had zero cases, explaining that the number of daily cases in the state remained stable.

Masidi also reminded people arriving from 11 countries - the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Norway, France, Canada, Denmark, Nigeria, United States, India and Pakistan - that they will have to undergo mandatory quarantine from Tuesday (Dec 28).

He said all travellers who come from these countries via international flights and intend to come to Sabah or on their way back to the state will go through a mandatory quarantine of seven days in Kuala Lumpur before being allowed to continue their journey to Sabah.

He also said that foreign nationals who do not have a special exemption to enter Sabah must also apply for permission from the Chief Minister's Department (Internal Security Division) to enter the state.
