PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry recorded 24 new Covid-19 clusters on Wednesday (June 23), taking the total active number to 851.

Fifteen of the new clusters are linked to workplaces, with Selangor recording seven; Penang, Melaka and Kuala Lumpur had two each; while Johor and Pahang had one each.

The Jalan Enam Selatan Dua cluster has 92 positive cases so far following a targeted screening exercise.

The outbreak involves workers of a service company located at Jalan KLIA S6 in Sepang.

Seven of the country's new clusters are community outbreaks, including the Nanga Tada cluster in Kanowit, Sarawak, which stems from a Gawai eve celebration, with 107 cases so far.

One cluster in Sepang has been categorised as a high-risk group, and is linked to patients and staff at a dialysis centre.

The cluster has 18 confirmed cases from a targeted screening exercise involving 89 individuals.

Another cluster, Tembok Jelebu, is an outbreak involving detainees and staff of a detention centre in Negri Sembilan, with 44 cases so far.

The index case is a 34-year-old Malaysian man who tested positive on June 15, after developing symptoms on June 11.
