PETALING JAYA: Questions related to Covid-19 and contract doctors are among the issues to be raised in the Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday (Sept 15).
Lukanisman Awang Sauni (GPS-Sibuti) wants Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin to clarify the vaccination status of those without identity cards in Sarawak and what action would be taken.
Also raising a related question is Shaharizukirnain Abd Kadir (PAS-Setiu) who wants Hamzah to state the action that will be taken against those who forge vaccination certificates.
On the other hand, Tengku Zulpuri Raja Puji (PH-Raub) wants Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi to state if the government will reduce the price of the Covid-19 RTK antigen saliva self-test kits which is too expensive for the rakyat.
He said this was in light of the ongoing pandemic, as families are expected to prepare such self-test kits for their use in their homes.
Meanwhile, Rusnah Aluai (PH-Tangga Batu) wants Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin to clarify if his ministry has plans to assure the future of contract doctors.
She said such plans were needed in order to prevent a brain-drain in the country in the future.
Lawmakers will resume debates on the Royal Address which was delivered by the King at the opening of Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Sept 13).
This Parliamentary meeting is the first under the government led by Ismail Sabri.
Based on the calendar of the Dewan Rakyat meeting, this meeting will be for 17 days and will end on Oct 12.
