A MAN arranged for his wife to marry her LOVER just five months after they had tied the knot - and even helped plan the wedding.

       Pankaj Sharma and his bride Komal were only five months into their supposed newlywed bliss when he realised she was in love with someone else.

       The accountant got hitched in May this year but his other half reportedly became distant son after their nuptials in Kanpur, India.

       According to the Times of India, Pankaj told reporters: "She neither consummated the marriage nor even talked to anyone.

       "After being coaxed, she confided that she wanted to marry her lover Pintu."

       In the wake of his wife's admission, Pankaj steered clear of the heartbroken husband route - and instead put his matchmaking skills to work.

       He informed his in-laws of the couple's decision to part, who desperately tried to convince Komal to give the marriage a go, according to local news reports.

       But she stood firm - seeing the head of the Anti-Domestic Violence Cell and Asha Jyoti Centre, Nidhi Gupta, arrange a meeting between Pankaj, Komal, her boyfriend Pintu and their relatives.

       The lovesick bride reportedly explained she wanted to be with her lover and inspired by her determination, Pankaj agreed and even helped plan the wedding.

       The accountant even arranged for a lawyer to conduct the ceremony for his ex-wife and her new hubby on Friday, attended by pals and loved ones from both sides.

       Locals praised Pankaj for his amicable exit from the marriage, saying it was "something extraordinary".

       One told the Times of India: "We have witnessed such a script in Bollywood movies but never in real life.

       "Incidents like this are quite rare. No one will ever forget the sacrifice of Pankaj for a long time."

       Some have likened the turbulent love story to the plot of the 1999 infamous Bollywood blockbuster, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

       The romantic drama follows a husband who discovers his new wife is in love with another man.

       He decides to help her unite with her lover - but she eventually returns to her forlorn spouse after realising her true feelings lie with him.
