A man was hit by a car and fatally injured Sunday night on Connecticut Avenue NW, D.C. police said.

       Clinton Covington, 66, of Northwest was crossing the street in the 5300 block about 9:50 p.m. when he was struck by a southbound car, police said.

       He died after being taken to a hospital, according to police.

       The incident is being investigated.
