GB News: Audience member berates Sunak over Covid vaccine harm

Rishi Sunak was subjected to a furious rant from a vaccine campaigner as he faced questions from the public during a forum organised by GB News this evening.

The Prime Minister, who is attempting to shore up support as the Tories gear up for a string of crucial by-elections, was quizzed by a panel of floating voters selected by Survation.

One, identifying himself as John Watt, from Scotland, was visibly agitated as he gestured towards Mr Sunak and pressed him on the issue, claiming he and others has suffered side effects as a result receiving the the Covid jab.

At one point he raised his voice and gestured angrily and others sitting on the other side of the room as moderator Stephen Dixon sought to calm the situation.

Mr Watt said: "I'm one of the COVID vaccine-injured in this country.

"I want you to look me in my eyes and I want you to look at the pain, the trauma and the regret I have in my eyes.

"We've been left with no help at all. Not only am I in here with vaccine injuries, another man over there has been ruined by the COVID-19 vaccine."

Mr Watt claimed: "I know people who have lost legs, amputations, I know people with heart conditions like myself Rishi Sunak.

"Why have I had to set up a support group in Scotland to look after the people who have been affected by that COVID-19 vaccine.

"Why have the people who are in charge, who told us all to do the right thing left us all to rot and left me and the tens of thousands in this country to rot.

"Rishi Sunak look me in the eye: when are you going to do the right thing?"

Mr Watt further claime there were "over 30,000 people" in Scotland who had suffered an "adverse reaction".

Mr Sunak replied: "I'm very sorry to hear about your personal circumstances and you said someone over here also seems to have suffered a similar thing."

At this point, Mr Watt declared: "We are the most silenced people in this country" before Mr Sunak continued: "I'm very happy to say that there is a vaccine compensation scheme that's in place, as you alluded to, in the NHS

"It's difficult for me to comment on anyone's individual case. I'm sure you'll appreciate that.

"I'm very happy to go and look at the cases and I'm sure you'll get them to the team here. I'm very saddened and shocked to hear that you've been silenced by anybody that is surprising to me."

"Most reports relate to injection-site reactions (sore arm for example) and generalised symptoms such as a ‘flu-like’ illness, headache, chills, fatigue, nausea, fever, dizziness, weakness, aching muscles, and rapid heartbeat.

"Generally, these reactions are not associated with more serious illness and likely reflect an expected, normal immune response to the vaccines.

"The benefits of the vaccines in preventing COVID-19 and serious complications associated with COVID-19 far outweigh any currently known side effects."
