       However, Oxfam took it off sale after its transgender staff complained because Ms Rowling, 56, disputes that trans women are identical to biological females.

       But feminist campaigner Julie Bindel said the charity should be "ashamed of themselves". She added: "Yet again trans ideology that's captured so much of society has prevailed over women's rights and women's experience."

       Citing sex scandals involving Oxfam aid workers in Haiti, she said: "They were so lax in dealing with men accused of sexually exploiting vulnerable girls and women, yet they rush to remove a game celebrating women."

       Labour MP Rosie Duffield, threatened for saying "only women have a cervix", said she was disappointed Oxfam thought gender identity politics was more important than raising money.
