The Duke and Duchess of Sussex - who quit royal duties last year for a new life in America - stepped out in New York yesterday for a series of appearances. Royal author Angela Levin, who penned a book on Harry, claimed the pair were carrying out "pseudo-royal engagements".

       Ms Levin also claimed the couple wanted to create their own "woke" Royal Family.

       She told the Sun: "It’s nonsense. Here they are doing pseudo-royal engagements.

       "They want to build up a woke alternative Royal Family, and get this one gone."

       The Sussexes' day out in New York on Thursday included an appearance at One World Trade Center where they posed for the media with New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor of New York State Kathy Hochul.

       The pair later met US ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
