KUALA LUMPUR: DHL Express has expanded its Malaysian footprint with a new mobile "ServicePoint” and collaboration with Parcel365 to be its exclusive international shipping partner.
The logistics provider said the latest additions would boost the reach of its vast local network of 146 retail outlets and service points in helping businesses tap into the global marketplace.
Customers can walk into the mobile unit to send shipments to destinations in Malaysia as well as any of the 220 countries and territories that DHL serves, it added.
"The mobile ServicePoint is currently in Mont Kiara and will remain there until the end of March before embarking on a citywide tour of the Klang Valley,” the company said in a statement today.
The partnership with Parcel365 leverages on innovative storage technology to equip customers with the ease and safety of contactless drop-off and self-collection, it added.
"Parcel365’s smart lockers allow customers to retrieve documents and parcels anytime throughout the day as well as dispatch overseas bound shipments via DHL Express, and it hosts 74 such lockers located at high-rise residences and offices across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Sabah, with plans to further grow the number to 300 by the first half of 2022,” it said.
The company’s expansion comes as the Department of Statistics Malaysia reported a more than 36 percent increase in e-commerce transactions in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the previous year. - Bernama
