KUALA LUMPUR: Spider-Man is at it again, but this time he has added a special treat to the care packages he gives out with the hope of bringing some joy to children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.Dressed once again in his Spider-Man suit, GoCare project manager Xilas Ngang put in a dash of sweetness by including a box of chocolates to complement the vegetarian meal packs distributed to needy families.

       “In addition to the food packs, we have also prepared this ‘happy meal’ with chocolates, drinks and a craft pack.

       “Normally, NGOs will send out food to the needy but we understand that there are families with kids, so we try to bring some joy to the kids as well,” he said.

       Ngang added that the initiative was part of GoCare’s Be MY Hero awareness campaign, which aims to support front line workers and charities as well as care of underprivileged groups affected by the pandemic.

       During the programme in Pudu yesterday, Ngang together with the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Photography Association and Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM) distributed a total of 200 care packages, which also included face masks, to the needy.

       The aid distribution was done in an orderly manner, with recipients forming two lines to receive the care packages at a makeshift stall set up at a parking lot near a supermarket.

       This was not the first time Ngang helped to distribute aid while wearing his Spider-Man suit.

       On July 6, he swung into action by the Hang Tuah flats in Kuala Lumpur to deliver essential items to 24 families living there.

       GoCare is a CRSM initiative to raise funds for underprivileged individuals and groups.
