KUALA LUMPUR: Ecstasy pills and ketamine worth RM379,600 have been seized in a raid at a supermarket parking lot in Cheras.

Two men aged 30 and 38 were also detained during the raid at about 6.30pm on Friday (March 4).

Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) deputy chief Supt Mohd Shokri Abdullah said police inspected two cars belonging to the suspects and seized 6.1kg of ketamine and 915g of ecstasy pills.

"We also seized a gold necklace worth about RM5,000.

"We believe the drugs were meant for the Klang Valley market," he said in a statement on Monday (March 7).

Both suspects tested negative for drugs and have been remanded until March 11, he said.

"The drugs seized could have supplied 14,840 drug users.

"We will step up such operations," he said.

Supt Mohd Shokri urged those with information on any drug activity to contact the KL NCID via Whatsapp at 012-208 7222.

"We need the cooperation of the public to effectively combat the drug menace," he said.
