SEREMBAN: Water supply to a few districts in Negri Sembilan has been disrupted after operations at several water treatment plants had to be stopped or reduced due to a combination of factors caused by floods.
State water concessionaire Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan (Sains) said heavy rains had also caused landslides and the deterioration of raw water quality at some plants which led to temporary closures.
Power supply at several plants had also been cut, Sains added.
The Linggi water treatment plant had to be temporarily closed for a clean-up after debris was brought in by the massive floods to the water intake point.
Some 48,000 accounts in parts of Seremban, Rembau and Port Dickson were affected, Sains said.
Areas affected in Seremban include Taman Pinggiran Senawang, Ladang Bt. 11, Rantau, Kg Solok, Kg Ribu, Kg Sega Ulu, Kg Sega Hilir, Ladang Kuala Sawah, Kg Nyatoh, Rumah Rakyat Nyatoh, Kuala Sawah, Kg Belangkan, Kg Takau, Kg Pening, Kg Kancong, Taman Rantau, Taman Bandar Ekar, Kg Linsum, Kg Seliau Hulu, Kg Seliau Hilir, and Ladang Sg Sendayan.
In Port Dickson, the water supply to several areas along Jalan Pantai, Air Kuning, Tampin Linggi, Bandar Springhill, Chuah, Bukit Pelandok and Tanah Merah Site A have been cut off.
The affected areas in Rembau include the Halal Park, Kg Pedas Batu 1 to Batu 4, Taman Pinggiran Pedas, Kg Minching Lama, Sg Ibor, Taman Pedas Indah, Pedas Industrial Training Institute, Kg Sungai Batu, Kg Sg Lalah, Taman Pedas Perdana, Kg Kundur Hulu, Kg Kundur Tengah, and Taman Ezora.
Sains said operations at the Pantai treatment plant have also been affected involving some 13,300 accounts.
The affected areas include from Batu 6 to Batu 10 Pantai, Seremban Lake Gardens, Kg Bukit Merbah, Kg Merbah Indah, Taman Cermai Impian, Sikamat Army camp, Taman England, Taman Jujur, Taman Penaga, Taman Bukit Penaga, Taman Sri Penaga, Taman Coral, Taman Sri Inai, Taman Sikamat Utama, Taman Kolej Height, Taman Nibong, Taman Akasia, Taman Sri Pandan,Taman Ampangan Jaya, Taman Seremban Putra, Kg Wong Sin Chow, Kg Baru Sikamat, Rumah Rakyat Sikamat, Pulai Impian 1&3, Taman Temiang Jaya, Taman Bukit Sarimban, Taman Indah, Taman Rashibah, Taman Suliana, Taman Perwira,Taman Desa Permai Sikamat and its surrounding areas.
Floods have also caused the Klawang water treatment plant to be temporarily shut down, affecting some 7,300 accounts.
The affected areas include Kuala Klawang, Ulu Klawang, Ulu Jelebu, Jelebu Hospital, Taman KSM, Kg Ulu Jelebu, Kg Ulu Klawang, Peradong, Pergai, Simpang Gelami, Purun, Chenor, Jelin, Teriang, Bandar Tinggi, Taman Naga Mas, Petaling, Kg Gagu, Kerangai, Petasih, Petasih Hulu, Petasih Hilir.
Sains said the Titi treatment plant had also stopped operations due to a power failure, affecting almost 5,300 accounts.
The affected areas include Titi, Chennah, Felda Titi, Sg Rotan 1 and 2.
The Lakai treatment plant has also stopped operations, affecting some 7,700 accounts.
Affected areas include Simpang Durian, Durian Tipus, Mentaus, Lakai, Kg Putra, Pasoh 1,2,3 and 4, Simpang Pertang and Pertang.
Operations at the Pasir Besar treatment plant has also been reduced due to deterioration in raw water quality while the Ulu Bendul plant was shut down.
The affected areas include Ulu Bendul, Terachi and Tanjung Ipoh.
