QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday suspended Kech Deputy Commissioner Hussain Jan, Assistant Commissioner Aqeel Ahmed and Naib Tehsildar Rasool Bakhsh for negligence in the Hoshab incident.

Protests have been continuing in Quetta and other areas since the incident in which two children lost their lives a few days ago.

A division bench of the Balochistan High Court, comprising Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Hameed, while hearing a petition on the Hoshab incident ordered an inquiry against the suspended officers.

The court asked heirs of the children, who staged a sit-in in the Red Zone of Quetta against the incident, to bury the bodies.

BHC says officers were found to be negligent in performance of their duties

The court directed the provincial government to pay medical expenditures of the girl who was injured in the incident and is currently under treatment in Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi.

The court declared the children as martyrs before disposing of the petition, which was filed by Kamran Murtaza, a lawyer.

The court directed the district administration to provide security to the families of the children and ordered that an FIR of the incident be registered.

The administration was directed to provide ambulances for the burial of martyred children.
