PETALING JAYA: Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Lim Ban Hong isn't a new face and he will be the best leader to fight for constituents in Klebang, says MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Dr Wee urged locals to vote for Lim, who's also MCA vice-president.
"This is the leader that will fight for Klebang residents," he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Nov 17).
Dr Wee had visited the party's operations centre in Klebang. Also present were Barisan Nasional
treasurer-general Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom and party Youth chief Datuk Nicole Wong.
Lim was the former Klebang assemblyman in 2013 after he garnered 9,171 votes against DAP's 7,074 votes.
However, in 2018, Lim lost the seat with 6,859 votes against PKR's Datuk Gue Teck's 7,648 votes and PAS' 2,272 votes.
In the coming Melaka state election, Lim will attempt to wrest back the seat in a three-cornered fight against Gue, and PAS' Bakri Jamaluddin.
Perikatan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan and Barisan have fielded candidates in all 28 seats.
Polling day for Melaka will be on Nov 20.
