IPOH: The Perak Health Department denies claims that production crew members who became Covid-19 close contacts are allowed to return home.
State Health director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said those who were allowed to return home were not categorised as close contacts.
Dr Ding said only seven crew members from the production, which was shooting in Kuala Kangsar, were identified as high-risk close contacts.
"They have been told to undergo a home surveillance order and are now doing so in Kuala Kangsar.
"They have also been given a wrist tag each," she said in a statement on the department’s Facebook page on Sunday (Oct 10).
"The remaining crew members were not categorised as high-risk close contacts," she added.
She was responding to an article in a Malay daily which reported that the production crew had returned to Kuala Lumpur while there were some Covid-19 positive cases among them.
Dr Ding also said that those who are not close contacts were not tested as they did not show any symptoms.
"However, they have been reminded to inform the respective district health offices immediately if they are showing symptoms, to be tested," she said.
