KOTA KINABALU: Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh was called by police here again after he was detained for questioning earlier on Friday (April 5).

According to Sinar Harian, Dr Akmal was called in again as police had a few more questions for him.

Dr Muhamad Akmal had been initially arrested at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 10.30am on Friday (April 5).

He was released at around 12.15pm after giving his statement at the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters.

He has since been released the second time around 2.30pm and was headed for Beaufort to attend Umno’s Kembara Ramadan programme.

Earlier on Friday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the police received two police reports against Dr Muhamad Akmal and the case is now being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.

“Investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers after the probe is completed,” added Razarudin.
