THE mum of tortured Baby P has been denied a Christmas release from prison after a Parole Board decision on her release was postponed, it is reported.

Tracey Connelly, 40, is making a fourth attempt to be let out from behind bars.

She would have been back on the streets within weeks if the board had given her release the green light.

Connelly appeared before the board earlier this month pleading to be let go, and claiming she was no longer a danger.

But a source told The Mirror the panel needed more information before reaching a decision, meaning she must wait until January.

The source said: “Her case is so emotive that the Parole Board has asked for more information about the psychological assessments she has been taking in prison before a decision is reached.

“This does not mean the board is minded to rubber-stamp her release, it just means that there are some questions that require answers before a conclusion is reached.”

She will face two more years behind bars if unsuccessful.

Connelly’s toddler son Peter died in 2007 after suffering more than 50 injuries at the hands of her partner Steven Barker and his paedophile brother Jason Owen over an eight-month period.

The tot was found dead in his blood-stained cot at his mother's London flat after 60 visits from social workers and police.

The horrific nature of tragic Peter's death – and the fact he was on Haringey Council's at-risk register – shocked Britain.

Connelly, 40, was jailed over the youngster's death after pleading guilty to causing or allowing the death of a child or vulnerable person in 2008.

She wants to be out in time for Christmas. If not, she will be banged up until 2023.

She was initially released in 2013 but was locked up again in two years later after breaking the terms of her indefinite sentence by flogging porn pics of herself to ghouls.

Connelly has made three attempts to be set free - in 2015, 2017 and 2019 - but each was refused by the Parole Board.

However, a source told The Sun Online that Connolly "will do anything asked of her to win her freedom".

They added: "She’s been undergoing psychological courses in prison to address her offending and really believes that she will be successful this time around.

"She wants to be out in time for Christmas. If not, she will be banged up until 2023."

Connelly will reportedly undergo 24-hour GPS tracking and provide details of any men she beds.

She will also promise to stay away from drugs and booze, as well as face frequent lie detector tests to prove she isn’t re-offending.
