GEORGE TOWN: Penang's famous Hameediyah Restaurant has closed two of its outlets in Campbell Street and Sungai Ara after its employees tested positive for Covid-19.

       The restaurant said both outlets will be closed temporarily while all other employees are being quarantined and tested.

       "At Hameediyah Restaurant, the health and wellbeing of the people and community is our priority.

       "Unfortunately, staff from our restaurant have tested positive for Covid-19.

       "Our restaurant will be closed temporarily for disinfection and cleaning until further informed by the Health Ministry," said the restaurant in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 7).

       It added that among other measures taken were to quarantine other personnel for another 10 days after receiving their test results.
