The collision, involving a van and a car, took place near J2, A20 London Road, near the Wrotham Brands Hatch Circuit. Traffic cameras from this morning show the coastbound carriageway empty of cars as emergency services dealt with the incident. Motorists on the live traffic app Waze have said cars are currently at a standstill, with miles of queing traffic.

       Police are currently on the scene.

       Highways England wrote on Twitter: "#M20 #J2 #Wrotham eastbound to #J3 lane 3 closed due to an accident. #TrafficOfficers on route, please take care when travelling in the area."

       Live travel maps show there is slow moving traffic between J2 and J2 of the M20.
