A PENSIONER has been arrested after a dad was killed and his toddler son left fighting for life in a four-car horror smash.
Police were scrambled to the A267 in Frant, East Sussex, after the hit-and-run crash unfolded on Wednesday morning.

A 36-year-old man, who was driving a blue Ford Fiesta, was declared dead at the scene.
His two-year-old son, who was the only passenger in the car, was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries in a critical condition.
He remains at King’s College Hospital in a serious condition.
A 76-year-old Honda driver failed to stop at the scene and is now being quizzed in custody.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and for failing to stop after a road accident.
Police confirmed a section of road cordoned off while specialist officers investigated has re-opened.

They are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal collision on the A267 near Frant on Wednesday (August 18).
"Officers were called to a four-vehicle collision on the A267 at 11.11am, where a 36-year-old man from Dartford, Kent, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Police have been working to trace the driver of one of the vehicles involved and on Thursday (August 19) arrested a 76-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and for failing to stop after a road accident.
"He is currently in police custody."
