       Deloy Grant earns his nickname the Night Stalker due to the fact he committed his heinous crimes in the dead of night, and attacked his victims while they slept.

       His elderly victims woke up in their beds to find a torch being shined into their eyes.

       Grant, left thousands of older people in southeast England living in fear of going to bed at night during his reign of terror which spanned 17 years.

       He would break into their homes through open windows or by removing a pane entirely.

       The sicko would then unscrew lightbulbs, or disable the electricity and rip out phone wires, before tiptoeing to the bedroom where his next victim was sleeping.

       It was this act of pure evil that saw him, quite rightly so, be named the UK's Night Stalker.

       How accurately is Delroy Grant portrayed in ITV's Manhunt?

       This is yet to be determined, as the show hasn't aired yet.

       However, if we are to go by the first series of Manhunt, it will be accurate depiction of Grant.

       In season one the ITV's series focused on the evil crimes of Levi Bellfield, with the programme being commended on how they portrayed the evil murderer.

       Manhunt kicks off tonight (September 20, 2021) at 9pm on ITV.

       Does Delroy Grant have another nickname?

       Grant was born on September 3, 1957 in Kingston, Jamaica.

       He is currently serving a 27 year prison term he received in 2011 at an undisclosed location from crimes that started in the 90s.

       Grant is also known for being Britain’s worst rapist, and was also called the Minstead Rapist, as the police operation in force to catch him was called Operation Minstead.

       Grant will be eligible for parole after completing 25 years.
