PETALING JAYA: More than 41 boats, 16 lorries, and many other assets were deployed on Monday (Dec 20) alone in efforts to aid those hardest hit by the floods in Taman Sri Muda.

Rescue personnel are going all out to relocate residents who are still trapped in the flood disaster at the location.

While their unrelenting efforts continue, the Social Welfare Department (JKM) is also helping to fill hungry stomachs by preparing cooked food to be sent to victims’ houses and flood relief centres (PPS).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob expressed his heartfelt thanks to the many agencies who are working

       round-the-clock to rescue stranded Malaysians.

“The relocation of over 500 flood victims had begun since Friday (Dec 17), which involved the Fire and Rescue Department from the Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Puchong fire stations,” he said in a Facebook post.

He also thanked volunteers, non-governmental organisations, elected representatives and every Keluarga Malaysia member who extended a helping hand to those in need.

“I will constantly monitor developments and continue to pray that the situation returns to normal,” said Ismail Sabri.
