KOTA KINABALU: A senior officer with the Sarawak branch of the National Anti-Drug Agency has pleaded guilty to four charges of falsifying documents when lodging travel claims during 2017.

Judge Abu Bakar Manat of the Kota Kinabalu Special Corruption Court ordered Christopher Anak Billy, 44, to pay a RM2,000 fine for each charge, for a total of RM8,000, on Friday (Oct 29).

The S44 grade officer, a deputy director of prevention in the agency's Sarawak branch, was charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code for fraudulently using a document as genuine which he knew to be forged.

He was said to have committed the offences when filing travel allowance claims on four separate occasions at the agency's Sabah branch office here in 2017.

The first involved a RM240 hotel receipt in March that year; the second involved two hotel claims for July totalling RM534; the third was a RM267 accommodation claim for August; and the last was a September hotel claim of RM345.

       Christopher paid the fine.
