PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Group Bhd executive chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun (pic) has tested positive for Covid-19 in the United Kingdom.
AirAsia confirmed this and noted that Kamarudin had fully recovered.
“We can confirm that executive chairman of AirAsia Group Kamarudin Meranun had Covid-19 but is not in ICU and has fully recovered.
“AirAsia will not be providing any further information,” it said when contacted on Friday (Oct 22).
A check on Kamarudin’s Instagram found that he and his wife Datin Siti Munajat Md Ghazali have been in London for about a month to send their daughter back to university.
The AirAsia co-founder had received his second Covid-19 vaccination jab in early August.
