7/10: A decent way to end the week. Near 70 locally, under partly sunny skies and with some gentle breezes.

       Express forecast

Today: Partly sunny. Breezy. Highs: Mid-60s to around 70. Tonight: Slight chance of a shower. Lows: Mid-40s to low 50s. Tomorrow: Blustery. Turning sunnier. Highs: 52 to 59. Sunday: Super sunny. Breezy. Highs: Mid-50s to around 60.

       Forecast in detail

Other than a stray shower late today or a brief one along a cold front tonight, we’re still dry as we end the week. Wind and breeziness is a story Saturday into Sunday, but sunshine levels do increase. The outdoor day of the weekend is looking like Sunday, before clouds move back in on Monday. Potentially some welcome rain could arrive by Tuesday.

Today (Friday): Any early fog patches shouldn’t last too long, with fairly bright skies possible until afternoon clouds thicken a bit more. Partly sunny skies help boost high temperatures into above-average mid-60s to around 70 degrees. Southerly breezes could gust near 20 mph a few times during the midday into midafternoon hours. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: Slight chance of showers as a cold front comes through, especially around midnight. Unfortunately, they look only brief, not meaningful enough to help our drought and dry spell in the region. South winds shift to northwest after the front passes, but generally look light. Pre-dawn low temperatures bottom out in the mid-40s to lower 50s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Saturday): North-northwest winds could gust around 30 mph at times. Morning clouds may bring a stray shower but skies should turn brighter with time. High temperatures cool down again, toward average for this time of year, in the mid- to upper 50s. Wind chills average about five degrees lower than the air temperatures. Note, a continued elevated wildfire risk remains. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Northwesterly winds only slowly diminish toward moderate levels (gusts around 20 mph and slowly dropping). Clear skies still assist in cooling the atmosphere effectively toward the upper 20s to mid-30s. Confidence: Medium-High

Sunday: Likely the winner of the weekend and a classic late fall day. Bright sunshine and west-northwesterly breezes not quite as gusty (but still a few gusts around 20 mph possible). Mid-50s to around 60 degrees for high temperatures, but wind chills could still be a couple degrees lower. Confidence: Medium-High

       A look ahead

Sunday night: A few clouds nearer dawn as breezes die down a bit and temperatures bottom out in the upper 20s to mid-30s. Confidence: Medium

Clouds are on the increase Monday but showers should wait until at least the nighttime hours. We may stay cooler, assuming clouds dominate, into the upper 40s to mid-50s. Plus, it should be one of our calmer days with less wind than recent days. Confidence: Medium

Fingers crossed for rain chances Tuesday with moderate amounts possible. Periods of rain may last into the night. Timing and amounts still need to be monitored as we get closer. Southerly breezes and a moist atmosphere should allow temperatures to get into the mid- to upper 50s as it looks now. Stay tuned, since there’s about an equal chance of cooler or warmer high temperatures, depending on final rain amounts. Confidence: Low-Medium
