Four people were wounded during a drive-by shooting in West Town, as they stood near the intersection of Randolph Street and Racine Avenue early Wednesday, according to Chicago police.
Police said someone in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was last seen traveling east on Randolph, opened fire as the SUV drove past, according to a police notification.
At least four pedestrians had been standing in the 1200 block of West Randolph Street around 12:45 a.m. when gunshots rang out, authorities said. Three men and one woman were hit; none of their injuries were considered life-threatening. The wounded included:
A 41-year-old man who was shot in the knee. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition. A woman in her early 20s who was shot in the knee. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition. A man, approximately 30 years old, was shot in the left leg. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition. A man, who also was approximately 30, who was shot in the thigh. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
No arrests had been made and detectives continue to investigate.
