KUALA LUMPUR: A police patrol car was swept away by flood waters at Kuchai Lama here on Monday (March 7).

       Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the vehicle was parked near a police booth at about 3.30pm on Monday (March 7) as the two policemen wanted to perform their prayers.

       "However, the storm and heavy rain led to (a flash flood).

       "The policemen tried to leave the area but the vehicle's wheels were submerged.

       "The two policemen managed to get away and the vehicle was swept away by flood waters," he said when contacted.

       Both policemen escaped unhurt.

       "The vehicle was brought to Brickfields police headquarters once the water receded," ACP Amihizam added.
