Covid has hit live events, including theatre shows, music festivals, and cinema viewings since 2020, cancelling all gatherings amid transmission threats. In 2021, this is starting to change thanks to vaccines, which have made events much safer. The Government has responded by loosening restrictions, meaning some annual gatherings can go ahead for the first time since 2019.
Edinburgh Fringe likely ranks amongst many people's most sorely missed events, as the arts festival hasn't debuted since 2019.

People can attend events for 24 days until the end of the month on August 30.
