Emergency services rushed to the scene in the city of Campina Grande after the victim's husband raid the alarm.

But when paramedics arrived at their home in the early hours of August 17, Jennifer was already dead.

Her husband, who has not been named, said that his wife was electrocuted after she got out of the bath and tried to put her phone on charge using an extension cord.

He said he heard an "unusually loud noise" and a scream before finding her unresponsive on the ground.

Chief Ramirison Pedro, from the Campina Grande Homicide Police Station, said that the case is being treated as an accident.

He added that the case will still be investigated, however.

Jennifer was nine months pregnant, according to her mother-in-law.
