Elon Musk has hit out at Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey after he was accused of knowing nothing about Britain.
Sir Ed made the comments following a tirade by the X owner on his account where he called for the King to dissolve parliament and made extreme allegations against Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

The spat was ignited after Phillips refused to commission a national enquiry into child sexual exploitation in Oldham, due to her belief that a local enquiry was best placed to deliver "real change in local frontline services."
Musk subsequently went on to attack Phillips and Starmer over their perceived failure to address the failure of authorities to protect vulnerable underage girls from grooming gangs, predominately made up of men of Pakistani origin.

The Tesla founder went on to launch furious attacks against Sir Keir and Phillips.
Those comments, along with a poll where Musk asked if it was time for the United States to "liberate" the UK from its "tyrannical government" were the catalyst for Davey to wade into the condemnation of Musk.
Davey wrote on X: “People have had enough of Elon Musk interfering with our country’s democracy when he clearly knows nothing about Britain.
"It’s time to summon the US ambassador to ask why an incoming US official is suggesting the UK government should be overthrown."

The uncovering of the grooming of young girls in several northern towns by groups predominately made up of men of Pakistani origin was first reported on in 2011 by The Times journalist Andrew Norfolk.
In 2022, an independent inquiry into child sexual abuse and exploitation by organised networks made 20 recommendations which they said should be implemented within six months.
