D.C. police said that at least one member of the U.S. Marshals Service fired a gun Thursday morning while trying to apprehend a person in Southeast Washington.

Police said a person was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but it could not immediately be determined whether the injuries were due to gunfire or a vehicle crash that occurred during the incident.
