TalkRADIO host Ian Collins heard from a Briton who has been stranded in Portugal for months because the UK does not accept the double jabs he and his wife received in the EU. Steve, who rang into the show from the Algarve, explained he had received two doses of Pfizer only to find the vaccines are not recognized by the UK authorities. He said the only way of returning to the UK would be with a double dose through the UK vaccination programme.
Steve told Ian Collins: "We thought we had moved heaven and earth to get ourselves double jabbed in Portugal.
"Thank god for that with a Pfizer jab.
"I now find out that if we came back to the UK now...which we were really hoping to do because we haven't seen our family now for months.
"The UK doesn't accept the double jabbed Pfizer jab we have had in Portugal."
He continued: "So what are we supposed to have?
Another couple of Pfizer jabs when we get back to the UK?”
Steve added: "The only way we can get back in is if your double jab has been done under the UK vaccination programme.
"So how in the....what are we supposed to do!?"
It comes as President Macron implemented a new rule meaning France is accepting fully vaccinated visitors under certain conditions.
But only if the doses they received were approved by the European Medicines Agency.
"That is a green light for those who have been inoculated with Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or Janssen," reported France24.
"If you had your jab outside the EU French social security can give you a certificate to enter French soil.
