KUALA LUMPUR: Police crashed a private party and issued over RM56,000 in compound notices after raiding a shoplot at Jalan Aminuddin Baki, Taman Tun Dr Ismail here.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said they raided the premises at around 10.50pm on Saturday (Jan 8).
"We received information of a private party being held there prior to the raid.
"When we arrived at the scene, we found that there were many people drinking alcohol and partying which made it difficult to practise physical distancing," he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 9).
"We checked three workers and 52 locals as well as 33 foreigners believed to be party-goers.
"We arrested two individuals believed to be the organisers of the party as well as caretaker of the premises.
"We also arrested the 33 foreigners," he said, adding that they issued 55 people with a RM1,000 compound notice each for violating standard operating procedures (SOP) as well as a RM1,000 compound notice to the premises owner.
He said they also seized a mixer console, an audio system and a microphone.
"The 35 individuals arrested were taken to the Brickfields police headquarters for further action.
"We advise the public to refrain from any activity which is against the provisions set by the National Security Council (NSC) to curb the spread of Covid-19," he said.
