The man was detained in relation to the death of a 44-year-old man on Monday and remains in custody. The victim was found dead at New Park Road in London in the early hours of July 12. Officers were called to the scene at around 6.55am by the London Ambulance Service.

       A post-mortem held at Greenwich Mortuary suggested multiple injuries as the provisional cause of death.

       Next of kin have been informed, but the police are awaiting formal identification.

       Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
