KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Darulaman Bhd (BDB) and Shanghai Youzhu Industry Co Ltd have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), marking a significant step toward environmental sustainability through an innovative industrial waste management project.

       Executive director Raja Shahreen Raja Othman said the collaboration is strategically aligned with the Kedah Development Plan 2035 (PPK 2035) under the Environment Theme, Thrust 6 - Environmental Sustainability, and is an integral component to BDB's New Strategic Business Plan.

       “This international partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both entities to establish comprehensive industrial waste management solutions, minimising environmental impacts, promoting sustainable practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. By integrating environmental considerations into operations, the collaboration seeks to significantly contribute to the overall well-being of the community, related stakeholders, and the planet.

       "In line with this objective, BDB and Shanghai Youzhu are also discussing the potential establishment of a joint venture company related to Industrial Waste Management Development," Raja Shahreen said in a statement.

       He said BDB chose to collaborate with Shanghai Youzhu based on their 27 years of expertise and experience in managing the entire chemical supply chain process and more than 10 years of experience in the recovery and utilization of solid waste - including hazardous and scheduled waste, recycling, and waste management.
