IPOH: It was a “fine” dining experience of a different kind for a man here when he was caught eating at a food court despite not being fully vaccinated.
The 21-year-old was issued with a RM1,500 compound notice by the police when he failed to show proof that he had completed two vaccine doses while eating at Medan Selera Greentown here on Wednesday.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the police were conducting checks at several business premises during the incident.
“It was also an oversight by the eatery operator, who should have checked the person before allowing entry,” he told a press conference following a Jalur Gemilang flag-flying campaign launched by state communications committee chairman Khairul Shahril Mohamed at the state police officers’ mess hall here yesterday.
“Those who want to go out (for dine-ins) need to be fully vaccinated.
“Another individual was also issued with a RM1,500 compound for failing to show proof of being fully vaccinated while attempting to cross districts,” he added.
Comm Mior Faridalathrash said some 1,995 compounds for various offences involving standard operating procedure violations were issued from July 5 to Aug 19.
He said 14 of these cases included crossing districts without a permit since Aug 10.
He added that 78,793 out of 80,473 applications for a travel permit had been approved.
