KULAI: No discussions have taken place between Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional on any collaboration in the Johor state assembly, says Lim Guan Eng.
“So far, we have not received any indication from Perikatan to work together.
“Even during the state election, we did not receive any indication to work together from Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin,” said the DAP secretary-general.
When asked if Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi would be able to carry out his role as mentri besar, Lim said that the most important thing was whether he would fulfil Barisan’s manifesto.
“Age is not an issue. Our main concern right now is whether he would fulfil their manifesto, which includes the RM200,000 allocation to all assemblymen and assemblywomen, regardless of their political affiliation," he said during a press conference in line with DAP’s 56th anniversary celebration at its new state headquarters in Taman Tropika here on Friday (March 18).
Lim also said Barisan Nasional should explain why there was a last-minute decision to change the Johor mentri besar candidate.
He said Barisan had been quiet on the matter, which has left a big question mark post-election.
“They have not come up with an explanation so far. We will give them a chance to tell the people about their decision and after that, we will come up with a response,” he said.
On Tuesday (March 15), Onn Hafiz was sworn in as the Johor Mentri Besar before Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
