KOTA KINABALU: There is a chance that Malaysian United Democratic Alliance’s protem president (Muda) might contest under the Parti Warisan Sabah logo in the next general election if it fails to get registered as a new political party.

       Though Muda protem president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman did not directly say whether they would use Warisan’s logo, he also did not discount the possibility.

       "What is important is that we want to establish a strong union that has principles and represents all Malaysians regardless of race and religion, and to emerge as an opposition that is united and intact," he said.

       "Muda is collaborating with Warisan in many aspects but let us go through the court process to get Muda registered first," he said when asked about whether they were open to using Warisan’s party logo if the court process fails.

       "Let’s not go beyond the court’s decision yet. The hearing is next week, Syed Saddiq added.

       He had also posted a photo on Instagram on Sunday with Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal with the caption "Di Sabah bersama sahabat. Unity in diversity. @shafieapdalofficial".

       Earlier, Shafie had said Muda was welcome to use Warisan’s party logo if it was difficult for Muda to get the license and registration for their party.

       Syed Saddiq was present at Warisan’s annual general meeting here on Sunday (Dec 12).
