A 76-year-old Montgomery woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Sugar Grove on New Year’s Eve, police said.
The crash occurred around 6:25 p.m. Dec. 31 at the intersection of Route 47 and Cross Street, Sugar Grove police said in a news release.
Preliminary investigation shows a 2019 Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on Route 47 and was struck in the intersection with Cross Street by a 2012 Chevy Cruze traveling southbound, police said.
In the Ford Fusion, a 78-year-old driver and a rear passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and a 76-year-old passenger from Montgomery was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
A 22-year-old Batavia man driving the Chevy Cruze sustained non-life threatening injuries during the crash, police said.
Police have not announced any charges and are continuing to investigate the crash.
